1.Protect from elements
When planning the installation of your outdoor kitchen, you should make sure that there is a way to protect the cabinets and BBQ from the elements. This keeps your outdoor kitchen in optimal condition and prolongs its longevity.
2.Conform to State and Australian standards
For a smooth installation process, your outdoor kitchen area should be up to State and Australian standards. This includes ensuring that your outdoor kitchen will have sufficient natural ventilation, and that there is enough distance between combustible surfaces.
For an alfresco area to be considered outdoors, it must:
- have no more than 2 parallel walls with a covered roof; or,
- have no more than 2 walls at right angles with a covered roof; or,
- have no more than 3 walls with the one open side being at least 25% of the total perimeter.
Otherwise, the area will be considered an ‘enclosed’ space and additional requirements will have to be met.
3.Ventilation sorted
